The Electronics and Communication Engineering is the one of the dynamic disciplines. The recent innovations in electronics have triggered the information technology revolution and the Electronics Engineers are changing the world to a comfortable global home. The branch of engineering is responsible for the recent innovation in 4G communication,VLSI devices,smart sensors in industrial automation processes and high performance computers and many modern gadgets.

The ECE Department started functioning in the year 2002. The department is provided with all modern equipments and facilities in their labs. The department has conducted a number of seminars and technical talks for students by subject experts frequently. Department’s core faculty consists of diverse and talented professionals to hone the technical skills demanded by today’s engineering professionals.

Head of the Department

Prof Vinod C has done M Tech in Applied Electronics from Mahatma Gandhi University. He has been at the college level for the past 18 years and has 3 years of Industrial experience. He participated in and organized various national and international level events. His areas of interest are Signal Processing and Machine learning.

He has guided many student projects at B Tech and MTech Levels. He has coordinated many faculty development programs and workshops for students and teachers. Presently is doing Ph.D. at A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala

Engineering Graduates will be able to:
PO1-Engineering knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, Engineering fundamentals, to solve Electrical Engineering  problems.
PO2-Problem analysis: : Identify, formulate, analyse and interpret data to meet desired needs in Electrical Engineering
PO3Design/development of solutions: Design, evaluate and find suitable solution for complex problems  in the field of Electrical and Electronics engineering.
PO4Conduct investigations of complex problems: Assess real-life  engineering problems related to Electrical and Electronic Systems and arrive at solutions through research methods
PO5Modern tool usage: :Select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering tools including prediction and modeling to engineering applications.

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Musaliar College of Engineering and Technology promotes research in the frontier areas of science and technology. The department encourages its faculty members and students to bring out creative ideas and to implement it as mini projects, course projects and main projects.  The faculty members in the department are actively involved in research activities and can therefore guide the students toward research activities with confidence. The department promotes the publication of student projects and faculties research in Scopus indexed conferences and journals.
