Musaliar College of Engineering and Technology Successfully Concluded Data Science Workshop

The Department of Computer Applications at Musaliar College of Engineering and Technology successfully hosted a two-day Data Science Workshop, which concluded on February 7. Organized under the leadership of the MCA Association, the workshop provided students with hands-on experience and a comprehensive understanding of the Data Science Lifecycle.

The sessions covered business understanding, data mining, data cleaning, data exploration, feature engineering, prediction, classification, and data visualization, offering an in-depth learning experience. Through expert-led discussions and practical training, students explored real-world applications of data science, enhancing their analytical and technical skills. Participants successfully completed projects on sentiment analysis of social media comments using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and stock market prediction through regression modeling.

Guided by Prof. Jojimol Jos eph, the workshop saw active contributions from final-year MCA students Navaneeth, Aadarsh, Ansif, and Rashmi, whose efforts enriched the sessions. The initiative received tremendous appreciation from students, as it strengthened their expertise in data science and analytics while fostering interest in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and big data technologies. Furthermore, the workshop served as a catalyst for industrial collaborations, research opportunities, and career growth in data science, making it a transformative experience for all participants.
